Travel Companion

Get Sketchy just had their "grand opening sketch" put up on Friday. So I got right down to business and made my card!! How exciting!

GS Sketch #1:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My vision: Something nice and bright, with bold colors.
My problem: I realized I didn't have anything with bright, bold colors :S
I found some chipboard embellishments that were bright - so you gotta work with what you find!
Next I was onto paper - this was a toughie. I have nothing but bright colored and plain wee little scraps. So I again, worked with what I had.
My award: I should really get the award for "Most Hours spent on ONE Dang Card." *heehee*
I cut out the squares, rounded the corners with scissors, and inked the edges. I drew a heart on a scrap of paper, cut it out, and inked. I used a hole punch on my scraps, used the circles and inked. I don't own a Cricut, but I have the Create on order - I can't wait for it to arrive!!!!! I am so excited with the possibilities!
Where was I... I then used my laser printer and printed out the "Let's travel the world together." I used the Dear Joe 4 font.
I love my camera, therefore many close-up shots LOL:
Card Ingredients:
paper - all scraps
travel embellishments - Michaels
ribbon - Offray
ink - stampcraft in black
Craft Smart in brick red
Happy Saturday!!
You really made this sketch your own. At first I thought I didn't see the curve but then I got it.
Hi! This is an awesome card!! I love the bright colors and how you did the curve!
I love your blog too! Me and my sister was Ooohhing and aaaaahhhing over your scrapbook room! I'm in the process of trying to redo mine. It's kinda been my catch-all room for the past year. So, its been a long process. Your room is definitely full of good ideas. I have to work with a small budjet for scrapping too, so I especially love how you find things on clearance!
Thanks for following me and I look foward to more of your work!
Hugs,
Momiji
Lynne said; Deanne, you did a phenomenal job. Your ideas are endless. Is everyone as blessed as we are, to have such an incredible talent in our family. How I wish that my sister had a computer, so she could see all your amazing creations. And my mom would have "loved you to pieces", as she was so creative. There are only 24 hours in a day, and you work full time, so it really blows my mind all the other things that you accomplish. You always look so beautiful, you've redecorated your house so amazingly, and thanks to your blog, so many others can enjoy and appreciate your talents.
