CCT- Dieing for a Punch

Good morning!! Can you believe it is the last day of August??!!??!?

Bare with me here, but I would love to give a big THANK YOU to my Mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and husband for all your encouragement. They set up an account just to comment on my blog. Thanks a trillion!!!!

Well, I did it!! I got my five Christmas cards done this month (though I started just on Saturday)... I wasn't sure if I would have time, but with lots of hours put in (and a husband who is feeling neglected), I finished with just a few hours to spare.

I used Bobblehead Rudolph (from Bugaboo)...

Isn't he a cutie?!?!?

I know you are tired of seeing the same old ribbon in my past five cards but it is gone - finished the roll with an inch to spare.

Card Ingredients:
Bugaboo image; KI Memories Classic papers; Recollections cardstock; Copics; Gelly Roll white pen; Celebrate It Holiday ribbon; Recollections brad.

Fabulous challenges I had in mind while making my card:

Okie dokes - that is it for today! See you all again tomorrow.

ETA: I meant to give a shout out to SSW for my basis of the sketch. It is an older sketch that I loved!

PS - White Pen

Good morning all!

A new Monday, brings a new challenge at Practical Scrappers.

This week's challenge: white pen

Oh how I love my white pen - I would be lost with out it. And to think, I bought it for a previous PS challenge thinking I would use it once.

I made a Sympathy card - so hard to make but so important to give.

Card Ingredients:
Recycled silk flower; atd and Recollections cardstock; Gelly Roll white pen; Oval and Scalloped Oval Nesties; K&Co brad.

As always, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. Stay crafty my friends.

CCAYR - Snowflakes

Alright, I did it!!! It's Sunday night and I have another set of Christmas cards done!!

I shall make this quick as I have other things to do before bed...

One of my favorite things is to make non-traditional colored Christmas cards. I bought a couple pads of new paper and I can't wait to use them more!!!

I used Bobblehead Elf and Bobblehead Angel (from Bugaboo)...

My favorite way to make a card "Christmasy" is using Christmas ribbon. Unfortunately, I don't have a very big Christmas ribbon stock yet, so I use what I have.

Details of the Elf card:

And details of the Angel card:

Card Ingredients (same for both):
Bugaboo images; KI Memories Classic papers; Recollections cardstock; Label Nesties; Stampendous! Kaleidoscope embossing powder; Copics;
Inkssentials Glossy Accents; Celebrate It Holiday ribbon; buttons; twine.

I had these challenges in mind when creating my set:

So that is that! See you all again tomorrow morning!

BC - Anything Goes

{Bare with me as this turned into one LONG post}

Good morning everyone!! Oh how I love weekends! And next weekend is Labour Day weekend - even better!!!!

So I have a set of cards for you all today. I worked on them late last night and put the finishes touches on them this morning. I finally found the special touch I was looking for yesterday at Michaels. I didn't know what I was looking for, but I did know what I wanted. Does that make sense??? I look up and down the aisles every time I am there but this time something caught my eye. I found me some Inkssentials Glossy Accents!!!! This is what I have wanted to do to my cards for months but like I said, never really knew what it was called. NOW, how is that for a long winded {boring} story!?!

Over at Bee Crafty, we have a new bi-weekly (fortnight) challenge for you.

And the challenge is: Anything Goes (just use a digi)

Oh my! I bet we get over 200 entries this time around. I better get my fingers ready to comment!!

I used the Christmas Wish Fairies for two cards... Even though I made two cards, I consider them really one, as the card ingredients are exactly the same. Hence the "set." I think of them as brother and sister spreading Christmas cheer.

So this is "the brother." Let's call him Timmy...

Don't you just love Timmy's little tummy?

This is a {terrible} photo of the Glossy Accents on the wings - hard to capture something clear LOL

And here is his "little sister." Let's call her Tammy...

Tammy has got a cute lil tummy too!!
Card Ingredients (same for both):
Bee Crafty images; American Crafts Jolly papers; Recollections cardstock; Circle and Label Nesties; Stampendous! Kaleidoscope embossing powder; Copics; Gelly Roll white pen;
Inkssentials Glossy Accents; Celebrate It Holiday ribbon; buttons; twine. (Tammy has RAK dew drops)

I had these fabulous challenges in mind when making my set of cards:
  • Simon Says - Paper piecing (both their outfits are cardstock)
  • For Fun Challenges - use ribbon or lace (I made my "infamous" bow, button, twine combo)
  • Papertake Weekly - Recipe: 3- 2- 1 (3 bow, button, twine combo) (2 design papers) (1 digi image)
  • PaperPlay Challenge - Use their fab sketch and bonus challenge: use something new (my Glossy Accents and ribbon are brand new)

Okay, I think that is it!! Have a lovely weekend. I have to get more Christmas cards done!!

Strike a Pose - Vogue

Good morning ladies (and Derek)! Hope you all are having better weather in your neck of the woods. Yesterday was just a dreary and cold day - ick! I here it is supposed to get warm again real soon but then go back to cold. We have been dealt a strange hand weather wise this Spring and Summer. I hope this means that Father Winter will be extra gentle to us this year (fat chance!)

I am pleased as punch how my card turned out. I used Chelsea's Prom:

Isn't she just beautiful??

I wish I could have a dress like this!
Card Ingredients:
Sassy Studio Designs image; Colorbook Floral paper; Recollections cardstock; Copics; Stampendous! Crystal Snow; Oval and Scalloped Oval Nesties; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder; Recollections gems and pearls.

PS Lace Cardstock

Good Monday morning all! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was busy, busy, busy. Can't wait for next weekend already so I can take a break :)

Monday brings a new challenge week at Practical Scrappers.

Challenge: Lace Cardstock. When I saw this I scratched my head and said "what is lace cardstock??" Really I did!! I had to Google it!! Then I went to the store to pick some up and decided I did not want to spend $3.50 on one piece of paper. I was certain I had a piece kicking around in my stash so I went back home and searched for it... So that is my lace cardstock story - now you know :)

I just started trying really hard to use shading with Copics. The only problem: I only have one Copic of certain colors. I know I need to have one light, medium, and dark but my budget does not allow for such craziness. In time though... I have a list of 26 colors that I want. Could take a while!

Here is my attempt at shading with one color, her hair looks a little funky, but oh well! I used Miss "Wavy Hair Girl" image:

Isn't she darling???

That's my lace cardstock - found after searching a while for it!

Card Ingredients:
Bugaboo image; Making Memories lace cardstock; Recollections cardstock; Oval and Scalloped Oval Nesties; Copics, Gelly Roll white pen; Primas; buttons; lace; and twine.

As always, don't forget to check out the amazing DT work as well as this month's fabulous sponsor:

Thanks for being always so kind! Stay crafty my friends.

PS Sketch

Good morning! It's Friday!!! That I do know! I have been so confused all week on what day it is. Yesterday I thought it was Tuesday. Tuesday I thought was Monday... you get the point. But today is Friday and I love weekends!! We are going to Folkfest today and tomorrow and looking forward to it. Folkfest is an annual multi-cultural festival that is held by the city. Can't wait for the Ukrainian perogies and kubasa (garlic sausage) and Scottish clotted cream fudge - nummers!!

Anyways.... I am in a hurry here, though you would never know it :S

It is Sketch Friday at Practical Scrappers. I didn't follow the sketch very well - but I tried really hard too! I worked on it all night, fussing away at it, but in the end I wasn't too thrilled that in really no way, shape, or form, does it look like the sketch.

But I did get to use the fabulous "Don't Hate Me Ruby"...
on this week's sketch:

"A" for effort??

Card Ingredients:
Deja Views Animal print paper; Recollections cardstock; Bugaboo image; Copics; Oval and Circle Nestie; Primas; Making Memories black flower; Recollections brad and gems.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!! See you back on Monday!
