Pink Rose:

Hi all!  I am so in love with flower stamps.  I am so happy they are trendy right now.  But let's be honest, when aren't flowers appropriate!?

I am an Altenew newbie although I don't know what I was waiting for.  They have some seriously awesome stamp sets.  And flowers - lots of flowers!

I first white heat embossed this beautiful rose, then coloured with Zig markers.  I went a bit out of my comfort zone and used a bold yellow for the background.

Card Ingredients:

Stamps:  Altenew Label Love, Altenew Sketchy Rose

Die cuts:  My Favorite Things Blueprints 13

Blue Ranunculus:

Happy Monday all!  Today is a day off where I live, and it is a beautiful end to a beautiful weekend.  The sun has been shining and the weather has been pretty awesome for May.

Today I going to be the perfect day to be in the craftroom with the sun shining in and a lovely light fresh breeze coming through the window.

I just received an order from Simon Says Stamp and couldn't wait to ink up the new Sketch Ranunculus stamp set!

I white heat embossed my flowers, then applied water with a brush to the paper.  With the paper still damp, I applied the colours with Zig markers.  Once it was all dry, I fussy cut and adhered my flowers to my card base.  For the background I pretty did the same thing as the flowers except I did not wet it first.

I also have (still) been practicing my background colouring, which for some reason is hard for me to grasp.  I am rather happy with my grey watercolouring!!

The Paper Players 345:

Happy Sunday all!  Around these parts, it is "May Long Weekend" or for others, it may be referred to as Victoria Day, which I do believe is the celebration of Queen Victoria.  What I really know is that it is officially the first long weekend of the season =)
This week at The Paper Players, Nance's CAS Challenge is BUTTERFLIES:

There is nothing more summery then butterflies!  I actually took my inspiration from the challenge graphic as I thought these colours were very striking together!

I did some background ink blending, added some water splooshes and shimmer.  I then added my feathers and topped them with a wee little butterfly.

Card Ingredients:

Stamps:  Clearly Besotted Fresh Flowers

AMazing:

...Woooaaahhh, it's amazing.  With the blink of an eye, you finally see the light...

Every time I use this stamp set I have that Aerosmith song in my head.  And as I post this, my brain is still replaying this over and over  =)

I thought I would get "wild and crazy" by not heat embossing my flowers.  Instead I stamped the poppies in a similar coloured ink, coloured them with Zigs, and adhered them to my card base. For the background, I stamped the word "amazing" several times and added some vellum.  Lastly I used an ombre technique in pinks for the Amazing die cut.

...it's amazing.  When the moment arrives that you know you'll be alright...

Card Ingredients:

Stamps:  My Favorite Things Amazing, My Favorite Things Delicate Pretty Poppies

Merry Monday 248:

Happy Monday all!  I hope the weekend was good to you!  I spent a lot of it outdoors doing yard work, now it just needs to warm up so we can enjoy!

This week at Merry Monday, Marcia would like us to create a Christmas card using turquoise, green, and purple:

With such a gorgeous colour combination, I was super excited for this one!  Anything considered Christmas non-traditional, I seem to gravitate towards =)

I clear heat embossed jewel ornaments and coloured them with Zig markers.

Stamps:  Hero Arts Christmas Crystals (?retired), Hero Arts Under the Mistletoe

Die cuts:  none - gasp!

The Paper Players 344:

Happy Sunday all and Happy Mother's Day!  I haven't been around much this week as I have been spending every moment I can either Spring cleaning our yard or our house.  I am rather exhausted and feel like I have been run over by a bus.  Thankfully it is raining today so I have no choice but to enjoy some crafting =)

This week at The Paper Players, Claire has a beautiful Color Challenge:

I had SO much fun colouring my card!  I clear heat embossed the flowers and leaves, coloured them with Zigs, fussy cut, and adhered them to my card base.  I wanted the background stamps to have a more muted feel, so I stamped them with ink, then used my water brush to give them a washed out look.

Card Ingredients:

Pink Irises:

Happy Sunday all!  So instead of doing house and yard work I have been inside crafting.  It was nice to do at the time, but now I am feeling a little guilty as I am looking around at the mess I have left behind =)

I LOVE how this card turned out, although it took a number of colouring sittings to create, I think it was worth it in the end.

The Paper Players 343:

Happy Sunday!  It is has been a hot, hot, hot weekend.  The trees are starting to bud - yeah!  It is so nice to have summer weather after what always seems like a long cold winter.

This week at The Paper Players, LeAnne has a tasty challenge for us of SWEET TREATS:

Since it is so summery out, there isn't a better way to cool things off than with popsicles!

I had so much fun making the pink and orange treats, that I thought I would make a more "masculine" version too!

I did some ombre inking, then added some water splooshes, die cut my little treats and added them to my card.  Tasty!  I also did an ombre technique with my sentiment to match the popsicles.

Card Ingredients:

Stamps:  My Favorite Things Delicious Birthday

Die cuts:
My Favorite Things Blueprints 20, Reverse Confetti Let's Chill
Frosting:  Stampin' Up! cardstock, Stampin' Up! inks

Merry Monday 246:

Happy Monday all!  I hope the weekend was good to you and that you are enjoying the first day of May!

This week at Merry Monday, Nina would like us to create a Christmas card using the Night Before Christmas theme:

I decided to dust off this little mouse stamp from House Mouse.  Isn't she just the cutest!  Sleeping on her little cotton puff (which I thought would look festive in red!)...  SO ADORABLE!!!

I thought I would be brave and clear heat emboss her and then colour her with Zig markers.

Card Ingredients:

Stamps:  House Mouse Monica Dozes, Paper Smooches Joyful Greetings

Die cuts:  My Favorite Things Blueprints 13
Frosting:

Happy Sunday all!!

Today I am sharing my second card using Zigs.  Why did I not get them sooner!?!  (although it could be the hefty price tag!)

I clear heat embossed my peonies, coloured with Zigs, and fussy cut the flowers as I don't own the matching dies.
