10 Step Challenge...
Hold on to your shoes ladies - I have A LOT of photos on this blog post today...
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend - we got lucky with one really nice day of sunshine, so we dug out our whole garden and enjoyed some veggies for supper!
Challenge for today: Candy Shoppe Designs has a really, really fun blog hop going on here. It is their Super Sweet 16 Blog Hop Challenge - how cute is that??? It gives you a change to meet the DT and find out some things you didn't know about them. Plus each DT has the next step in completing your project (did I mention that yet?? Yes, there is a project at the end of the blog hop to complete.)
ETA: I forget to mention that STUDIO CALICO is donating the wonderful prize: The Lollipop Guild Kit for the Blog Hop challenge. Check out their other awesome kits too!!!
Here are the steps:
1. Base - use some sort of a base to your project. ie: flattened box, distressed paper etc
I used a old piece of cardboard that was in between a paper kit I received:

2. Use a paper with an edge. ie: torn, punched, glittered etc
I distressed mine:

4. Select a close-up photo of one or two people.
Check-a-roo (me and Derek):

5. Distress your photo.
I used my Cuttlebug to emboss, then I took some sandpaper to it:

6. Layer your photo over a piece of your patterned paper (from step 3).
Yep, did that - you can see it when it's all together ;)
**
7. Use some ribbon.
Ribbon - check, check!
**
8. Use at least three flowers and place them at the corner of your photo.
I used 8 - I love flowers:
**
9. Use three other types of embellishments.
I ended up using silver brads, gems, chipboard, and a button:
**
10. Lastly, don't forget the title and a date. Got it!
And the final product...
(the chipboard pieces look so much nicer in person - they didn't photograph well)
And a MILLION close-ups:
I distressed the chipboard with two ink colors and sparkles:
{Phew}
