Vintage Coffee:
Good morning all! What a simply gorgeous day out there! Now I know what you are thinking - if it's so beautiful outside then what are you doing inside??? Well I wanted to get my design team application for The Card Concept submitted.
I went all the way back to The Card Concept's "use a coffee theme" challenge:
I am applying for the "Shabby Chic" style. I decided on this style because I thought it would be a great opportunity to use some of my shabby stash (which I have a LOT of).
I always like to challenge myself and use every style of card making out there and shabby chic is one of my favourites!!
Shabby Chic and Vintage
Definition:
- the use of used, worn or inexpensive components to make stylish goods
- distressed or sponged edges
- old feel-antiqued
- lots of embellishments
- ribbons or lace
- lots of layers
My card is inspired by of course, the coffee theme through and through!
I found this vintage image on Pinterest (unfortunately the pin goes nowhere) which I framed with Spellbinders Classic Oval and Labels Eight dies and distressed with Craftsmart Gold and Chocolate inks. I then pulled out some complementary papers from MME's Vintage Finds collection (retired). Lastly I added some Wild Orchard Crafts flowers and a Reverse Confetti Be A Barista sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.
I also created this card for the following challenge:
"use it up" (my paper)
I had a lot of fun making this card and hope to be chosen for the team Lesley! Thanks for the opportunity to apply!
Cheers all!
