Life is Sew Good:
Good morning all!
This week's challenge at Papercraft Star is "pastels":
I am "sew" excited to share this card with you. I knew I wanted to do a sewing-themed card for one of my favourite challenges, but didn't have any large embellishments that would go with this theme so...
I decided to make a dress, which I drew a "pattern" on cardstock, then traced it onto this beautiful iridescent rose paper. The dress template took for ever as it took a couple of tries to get the right shape. You should have seen my first attempt - yikers! I figured I'd take this theme literally by making a dress pattern and whipping up my own little paper dress :)
I "mashed" two stamps together by masking off half of the secound stamp, as well as using ink and a toothpick to make a little coma between the two sentiments. I added tiny buttons, stitching, stick pins, and seam binding tape for an overall sewing-themed card.
I like this card "sew" much (okay, I will stop) that I don't want to give it away! Terrible, I know.
Card Ingredients: JustRite It's Sew Vintage (Amazing Paper Graces) stamps, Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap ink, CraftSmart Chocolate and Gold inks, DCWC cardstock, KaiserCraft Magnolia Grove papers, Mayan Road metal hanger, Prima flower, Celebrate It ribbon, random seam binding tape, Dress It Up buttons, Wild Orchard stick pins. Tools: sewing machine, Lattice Pendant Shapeabilities, Oval and Labels 3 Nesties,
I made this card for the following challenges: The Shabby Tea Room - spring, pink, green, cream/white, sewing element, JustRite Friday Challenge - Sew Good, Simon Says Stamp and Show - paper pads.
