LV 4

I participated (for the 2nd time) in the sketchy thursdays challenge ( design by diana ). I think I will have lots of fun with future challenges!

Now if only I could take decent bloody photos of my layout!!! I am so angry! I have tried different settings on my camera and lots of lighting.... someday I will figure it out...

I tried to incorporate some embellishments from LV 3 as they will be side by side in my scrap album - heehee! Still having a hard time with these single layouts!!

Some details:

Card Ingredients:
absolutely everything is from my local dollar store except for the one Prima pink flower in the word TWO *now that is scrapping on a budget*

Happy Friday!!!! It is a long weekend here in Sask, Canada - it is our Civic Holiday on Monday!

So you are a 12 year old boy

This is a HUGE toughie for me. What kind of card does one make for a 12 year old birthday boy?? No gems, no sparklies, no flowers, no ribbon, no hearts, no pink, no purple. So that leaves.... digging around in my supplies.... this:

Stickers, anyone??

Card Ingredients:
paper - Prima guitar
stamp - dollar bin at Michaels
alpha stickers - provocraft

*Phew* That was really difficult! I looked all over the internet far and wide for inspiration, but I couldn't find ONE THING. So I did my best with my little brain.

Like a 12 year old boy even cares about the card, LOL...

Happy Thursday! Almost at the long weekend!

Today & Always

My little cousin is getting married in a few weeks. I thought he would appreciate a wedding card full of pink flowers and sparkly gems :D

Card Ingredients:
paper - g.c.d studios "vines and flowers"
gems - Me & My Big Ideas
rub on transfer - K & Company Wedding

*Sigh* Not the best photos. I can't seem to get the right lighting. It looks so much brighter in person. Oh well, you get the point :D

Happy Wednesday!!!! Hope you are enjoying your week

Seven hours later...

...and I got me some white windows. Sanding. Priming. Painting. So much work, but so worth it in my opinion! Again, I love my white paint!!

I am almost done the living room. All that is left is the floor trim and the door trim!!! Easy peasy!

So it wouldn't be my blog without before and afters.

Before: not-so- nice green paint, rosy pink blinds, and oak trim. Someone paid a lot of money for that oak and custom blind package. Sorry to that person for totally destroying it.

Lotsa white :) Isn't it pretty?!

Next on the docket: main floor bathroom; new wall paint and white trim. I plan to tackle that this long weekend.

Happy Monday!!!!

LV 3

Today, I am participating in my first scrap challenge. While I was on Two Peas, I found design by diana. She posts a layout sketch and we all use our imagination and come up with our own interpretation.

Let me tell you, I have a REALLY HARD TIME only doing a single LO. I almost always have to do a double LO. I have tried many times to do just one page. *Sigh* It never works. This is just the kind of challenge I need!

Of course I took this opportunity to scrap more of Las Vegas. I took these photos at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. I absolutely love it in there! It is different every time we visit.

The details, how I love my Prima flowers:

This is my first time using snaps:

And of course, my trusty date stamp:

flowers - Prima
brads - Making Memories
snaps - dollar store brand
paper - dollar store brand
ribbon - given to me by a friend

Happy Saturday! My favorite day of the week!!!

Marvin the Muskrat

When we went to the lake on the weekend I went down to the dock early Sunday morning hoping to find some loons etc. Instead I found this little gem. I always have felt sorry for muskrats as they have such a sad name. Who wants to be called a stinky rat??

He reminds me of a beaver, except for the tail. A muskrat has a long skinny tail that floats straight in the water, almost like a rudder.

Mr. Marvin the Muskrat:

He was a cutie, and very cautious of me. I am surprised he got so close. It took him a good 10 minutes to come my way.

Having a leisurely Sunday morning swim:

Happy Friday! My 2nd favorite day of the week!! Have a good weekend!

New Job Card

One of my co-workers is leaving for a Nursing teaching job. I wish you all the best Kim!!

This is my first project of "group layering". I consider group layering as a bunch of stuff layered on top of each other. It took me probably a couple of hours to achieve this look (sad, I know).

I inked all the edges in black, including the chipboard. :

Card Ingredients:
paper - Prima
chipboard - Colorbok
ribbon - Sheer Creations
flowers - Prima

Happy Thursday!!! Thanks, as always, for looking at my blog.

LV 2

Alright, I am on a role! I finished another double LO from Las Vegas.

I took these photos at Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage Hotel. It was a real treat seeing wild animals in downtown Las Vegas. I really do *heart* cats!

LO 1 of 1 - Mr. Lion catching some sun:

LO 2 of 2 - An adult white tiger and the bottom is a yearling:

Some details:

"C" is for cat. Derek tells me that makes no sense at all and no one will put the two together.

"Sewing" the ticket stubs to the paper with ribbon:

paper - Making Memories
chipboard embellishments - DCWV Safari Kids (with glitter of course!)

Happy Wednesday! Half way through the week!!!

LV One

I have finally started our Las Vegas scrapbook. Derek, Mark, and myself drove down in April 2009.

LO 1 of 2: One of my favorite things we did was go to the Titanic Exhibit at the Luxor. It was truly a touching tribute to those that perished.

LO 2 of 2: We also went up to see the Strip at night on top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Hotel:

I finally was able to use the date stamp I bought for one dollar, what a steal of a deal:

paper - Creativity Inc, Epiphany - Life Is
brads - Making Memories

Happy Tuesday!!

Going, going, gone.

We had the chance to rent a cabin at Wakaw Lake with friends on the weekend. The weather couldn't have been better. We had a lake front view and it was incredible. We got to wake up to it right from our bed.

There goes the sun, do-do-do-do:

Hiding behind a cloud:

Derek enjoying the disappearing sun:

Derek and Bryan giving the peddle boat a quick test:

And the sun is gone for another day:

Happy Monday! Enjoy your week!

When I Come Around

I had a moment to scrapbook today. Me, Derek and Mark went to Green Day on July 7, 2009. It was a great concert.

LO 1 of 2: Unfortunately the spray adhesive I used gave the newspaper a "greasy spot" look

LO 2 of 2: The online newspaper write up, and if you look closely, Billie Joe says "Of every place we have played in Canada so far, this (Saskatoon) is the best f***ing one". That is right, I heard him say it. Then again, I think they had only been to three other Canadian cities at the that point. :D

Some details:

I thought colored staples were "punk-rock-ish"

paper - Prima
staples - Making Memories

Happy Sunday!
