Good morning friends. I hope the week has been treating you all well. I have been busy between work, pets, appointments... I am really looking forward to the weekend!

Today I am sharing a House Mouse card with you. Unfortunately, I only have one House Mouse stamp right now, so you may be seeing this lil lady more than once ;) Also, this is my first time coloring an ink stamped image, I was a little nervous as I thought the ink might run, but it didn't LOL.

And did you know that Valentine's is right around the corner and I own practically nothing with hearts?? Apparently hearts don't interest me :S But look closely, the gems are little hearts.

Good morning February. It is such a beautiful day out this morning - so mild with no wind. Completely unheard of for mid-Canada!

This is my 2nd attempt at a card sketch. My first card is still sitting beside me, looking all wrong, hideous really. I *might* be a bit hard on myself but I am so happy that I tried the sketch again from scratch. The old card has potential, I just still need to perform that card surgery I was talking about on Monday :)

This is my first attempt at emboss resist. It didn't turn out quite how I expected, but in the end I think it gives a nice shabby/vintage feel. I prefer pearls over gems!

Well we certainly have been in a cold spell, though I shouldn't complain as we have had the 2nd warmest winter on record. BUT... right now it's a bit chilly out. Weather Canada says it feels like -48 C (-54.4 F) with the windchill but we shall survive. Nothing a good winter jacket can't fix, right?!

So really that is all that's exciting in my life: the weather :)

I have created a no-nonsense, no-cutie pie masculine card again. I love making these as they are quite the challenge. Since I feel I am getting the hang of things, I need to go buy some more masculine stamp sets.

What do you mean it's over?? What happened to Christmas? I don't want to take down the tree :(

With that out of the way, I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season. Mine is still technically going, I have been off work and don't go back until Monday. Had some time to spend with family and just relax. My husband spoiled me this year with many amazing craft goodies - I can't wait to break them out of their packages!!

Good Monday morning! It might be the best Monday of the year! Sure, sure, I have to go to work right away, but the office is closed on Thursday until the new year. Actually, it's the best (work) week of the year! And can you believe it is only 6 more days until Christmas?!?!?!? I hope you have all your shopping done. Everything is wrapped and under the tree here, now all I have to do is Christmas baking on Friday - oh how I love Skor shortbread and pecan butter tarts! I was going to start baking earlier, but between me and my husband we would have everything finished by Christmas :)

I don't know about the rest of you, but making Christmas cards up until the last minute takes the joy out of it. It feels so great to make something other than a Holiday card! Pink? Check. Flowers? Check. Thank you? Check.

Oh my goodness - 9 more days until Christmas - how exciting!! Why do I love Christmas so much, well there is the obvious reasons: it's Christmas. But Boxing Day, the day after Christmas is also one of my favorite days. We get up nice and early, have breakfast, go to Tim Horton's drive-through for an extra large coffee and go shopping with a million other people for the day. Sounds crazy, but I love it!!!!! It's a family tradition :)

I also have holidays from Dec 22 through to the new year. Life is good at Christmas.

Good morning. It is absolutely beautiful out this morning with not a stitch of wind.

I am sharing a card with you all today that took all of my imagination. I love to be challenged (though I may be muttering under my breathe when actually making the card). And anything vintage/shabby is very challenging for me. Basic Grey wants us to find things around the house. I used a Halloween candy box for the kraft paper and the flowers came from my wedding box. I built them up, made them fuller, ink distressed, and attached them with brads. The green material is from.. I have no idea, one side was covered in velcro. I guess I thought I would use it one day.

A Fairy Christmas...

Good morning - now how did that happen. Here I thought on Sunday I was having an odd (but enjoyable) lazy, relaxing day - turns out I was getting sick. I still haven't come full circle but I am feeling much better. I think I had gotten some sort of stomach flu/bug. I took my first sick day off from work in seven years - I 'm a bit stubborn :)

Good morning friends. It's Thursday and one day closer to the weekend. It's my tradition to put up the Christmas tree on Saturday and I look forward to it every year. Yeah for Christmas!!

I used lots of my old stash for this Christmas card and tried to keep it simple. I am such a "matchy-matchy" kind of of girl, everything has to perfectly match. I am trying to get out of that habit and have colors "compliment" each other, easier said that done!

I did use pink pearls though - I thought that was pretty wild :)

Good Sunday morning all! I hope you have been enjoying your weekend so far. Today I am going to attempt to Christmas decorate the outside of our house. The cold weather has calmed down just a bit (-17C, 1F) so I think I should be okay, though I may have to take a few warm coffee breaks :)

Yowzas it's cold out there, -29C (-20F) with the windchill. That kind of weather makes puppy house-training quite difficult. Pixie and I had to go out twice this morning already, but we managed and are now enjoying our little heater in the craftroom. What?!?! Pixie isn't spoiled at all!

Good morning all - brrrrr.... it's getting chilly out there. Weather Canada says it's supposed to get down to -28C (-18F) this weekend. Hmmm... I wanted to put up the outdoor Christmas lights, leave it to me to do it the coldest day of the Winter so far.

You know what one of the smartest things I did this year? I started making Christmas cards in January. I remember last year at this time I was run ragged with making Christmas cards, this time around, I am ahead of the game. Patting myself on the back ;) And ask me about my Christmas list shopping: almost done!! Oh I just love Christmas!!

Good morning - my goodness, Monday mornings sure creep up quickly. We had a nice long weekend but didn't get those outdoor Christmas lights up. I really don't want to get up on a ladder so I am going to rethink the lights once again. One day I will get it right.

Vintage Masculine...

Hi! Just a quick post as I really need to sit down comfortably. I fell this morning on the sidewalk holding my little Chihuahua puppy and just haven't felt like fabulous. No worries, Pixie is safe - I am another story LOL.

I am so excited to share this card with you. I wanted a really masculine card - nothing cutesy. So I whipped this card up (by whipped, I mean another 2 hour card *sigh*). I brought out my inks and distressed everything PLUS I also dusted off my acrylic stamps to make the sentiment background and to ink the bottom of the pattern paper (do you see the "manly" deer?). If only I were this creative all the time when it came to masculine cards.

Good morning all! I hope the week has been treating you well so far. Well the snow is here to stay. I've got my winter snow tires on the car, mittens and scarf in my bag, boots to shovel the driveway... hmmm, what's missing?? Oh yes: Christmas lights!!! If the weekend weather is decent, I want to decorated the front of our house with wonderful Christmas lights. Oh how I love Christmas.

I also found a purse storage bag I had tucked away in my craft room and used that for the fabric on top.

Good morning everyone! If you follow my blog, you know I love Winter, but one thing that always amazes me every year is how dark it gets outside. I am usually up at 6AM to visit my blogging friends and the sun is still sleeping. Hmmm... maybe the sun is trying to tell me something ;)

Good morning all - I hope you have been enjoying your week. Halloween turned out to be pretty fun - all the kids loved our new Chihuahua puppy and she LOVED them all right back! I also officially started my Christmas shopping yesterday which is pretty exciting (in my books).

Chubby Birthday...

Good morning! It's going to be a great week - my boss is away until next week - yipppppppeeeee! Oh, and in case he is reading this: you're the bestest boss in the whole wide world ;)

It's also Halloween. I know I might be unpopular, but I don't like Halloween. The only thing that makes it worthwhile is the candy that we eat prior to handing out **heehee*. We don't have children, so we can't appreciate Halloween from that point of view and our dog HATES when the doorbell rings. Good thing I have my husband - he loves to hand out candy to all the little trick-or-treaters :)

Shame on me, right???

Here's a little tip for you: when coloring with Copic markers, sometimes I go out of the lines. Instead of using the Blender Copic marker to push the ink back into the image, I use a white gel pen just to touch up on white cardstock. It's WAY quicker and no one will ever know that you're not perfect ;)

Good afternoon blogging buddies - where did the weekend go?? I have to keep this short and sweet as I need to make some supper soon.

I did something a little different today - I tried to make a vintage card. Something I have never done but nonetheless, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Meet Clementine Winter...

Good Friday morning all!! Wowzers, Friday came really quick (not that I'm complaining). This weekend will be the last to enjoy any remaining flowers in the yard - it's Fall cleaning weekend!! Am I excited to clean the yard?? No, but it does mean that Winter is right around the corner, and we all know what my favorite Winter holiday is.... CHRISTMAS!!! Only 10 more weeks!

I use a New Release from StampFairy: Clementine Winter. I have affectionately named her Clemmy as she is just as cute as a button :)

Purple & Silver Wedding:

Oh my! How can Thanksgiving be over??!! Now it is pretty much mid-October - where is the time going?? And the sun? It's not even up yet! Hopefully the snow will stay away at least until we have the yard cleaned up for winter. I still have flowers in bloom in the front yard - Autumn has been beautiful here!!

Today I have another simple card to share with you all. Sometimes I find simple, more easier cards a bit more gentler on my brains as our new puppy (Pixie) is still keeping me up several timers per night. Last night at 2 AM, she peed on a dry-clean-only bedspread. She's definitely spunky :)

I certainly can't be mad at her:

As you can see, I am babbling, which usually means I am tired and not thinking straight. I should definitely start drinking my extra strong coffee now :)

I was a little worried sewing on this card - I usually do zig zag stitch which hides the fact that I can't sew straight :)

Well howdy folks!! I can't believe it's been almost a month since I left BlogLand! We did our traveling, got home safe and sound, and got a new little puppy. It's been a bit crazy around here, but I am back and ready to get my craft on!!

Santa Pants...

Good morning everyone! Well I have to tell you, I turned on our house furnace this morning. I woke up and our house had cooled overnight to16C (60F) and -4C (24F) outside. Almost time to bring out the mittens!!!

Also, this is my last post until October - I am leaving tomorrow and won't be visiting my craft room for 2 1/2 weeks! I hope I don't suffer too much withdrawal!!! Though who am I kidding - I will be poolside, relaxing, and sipping pina coladas, I will try not miss home too much!

(Now, of course, I have the Pina Colada song in my head)

Good morning all! What a week weather wise, I think it's been the hottest week all Summer. Yesterday it got up to 34C ( 93F) which is pretty hot for September. Personally, I am waiting for the snow - yes, I am crazy.

With all this snow talk I think it is appropriate to share a Christmas card! You will now see me go into full on Christmas cards since I realized I am leaving next week until October (sneaks up on a person!)

Gingy is full of shimmer (hence the reflection in the photo). Doesn't he look good enough to eat?? I "aged" the lace from white to creamy with inks - I am quite happy with the result. I wish I would have thought of this 6 months ago when I needed creamy colored lace :)

I did something different this time around with the card I am sharing with you today. I call it "simple" yet this "simple" card took me two hours to do. Leave it to me to make simple hard!!!
