Family and Friends

As my husband watches the World Junior hockey game (Canada vs USA) and has been screaming at the top of his lungs at the tv (Our Canadian team just tied up the game with a minute left), I have been crafting up a special card.

Tonight's challenge: 1. Creative Card Crew wants us to use "Distressing"

2. Practical Scrappers wants us to use "Buttons" (my favorite!)

I made this card for someone very special:

For the record, I used one whole button ;)

I am waiting for my tan embossing mat to arrive in the mail so I can do some embossing. Derek bought me some Nestabilities for Christmas and I can't wait to use them. For now, I will just continue matting all my squares :)

Card Ingredients: K&Co Roam paper; Bazzill cardstock; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder; Delta and studio g stamps; Craftsmart Gold and Chocolate Brown inks; Stampendous! Pirate Gold embossing powder; Celebrate It ribbons; Fiskars diamond punch; random pearls, button, and twine.

Happy Tuesday to all of you!! See you all again tomorrow!!! xo

ooh, GORGEOUS, Dee!
i love the way your ribbons turn out, and the twine is the perfect little shabby touch.

GO CANADA!!

as for the embossing mat - i picked up a DIY gasket kit from Home Depot and it came with two - works brilliantly for a fraction of the cost!

Dear Deanne; You created a very special sympathy card, and the colors you chose are very calming and soothing, during a difficult time in a person's life. Kudos, my dear! I was screaming just like Derek tonight. The junior hockey players are excellent and so fast. I enjoyed the New Year Eve's game, and tonight's gold medal game, between Canada and the States, more than NHL games. Both teams deserved to win, and my heart breaks for Canada. Spectacular, young Cdn. player(from Regina,SK.), #14 Jordan E., was devastated by the outcome. But they can hold their heads high. Good night! Sleep tight!

Very fresh looking. I like the bow added to the button, a little detail that goes a long way. Thank you for playing with us at Practical Scrappers.

Making this card was a much better use of time than watching that big loss!! What a disappointment after the big comeback in the 3rd pd!!
